The Creative Process at Work in South Africa

Conflict Transformation Through the Creative Process

'Keep an Eye on Your Soul Workshop' (KAEOYS)

Many children in South Africa experience extremely high levels of stress, trauma, loss, abuse, insecurity, poverty and crime resulting in scholastic failure and feelings of hopelessness. Allowing students to engage in the creative process as they explore new ideas about themselves and their role in the world allows them opportunity to increase self awareness and experience positive change.

June 2012
Brooke Anderson, in collaboration with Dr. Elzette Fritz from the University of Johannesburg, brought KAEOYS to South Africa to work with students and teachers at Elandspark Secondary School in Johannesburg. This 5 -day workshop explored Conflict Transformation Through the Creative Process using KAEOYS as a foundational tool.
